Make it Easy for Tourists to Explore Various Destinations

Banyuwangi Regency has become a tourist destination. To facilitate tourists, the Banyuwangi Regency Government provides free tourist transportation to various destinations.

“This program is to facilitate tourists who are on vacation in Banyuwangi. However, Banyuwangi residents who want to take advantage of this service are also welcome,” said Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani, Saturday (5/17/2025).

This free tourist transportation serves 13 routes to destinations. Starting from Bedil Island, Mustika Beach, Red Island, Doesoen Kakao, Umbul Bening Baths, Banyuwangi Urban City Tour, Alas Purwo National Park, to Wedi Ireng Beach.

Other routes go to Ijen Crater, Djawatan forest, Grand Watudodol beach, Bangsring underwater, and Gumuk Kantong.

“This is part of our service for tourists who come to Banyuwangi. So come to Banyuwangi,” explained Ipuk.

This free tourist transportation operates every weekend, namely Saturday and Sunday.

The fleet provided consists of one large bus (43 seats), one medium bus (25 seats), and one minibus (14 seats).

Head of Banyuwangi Transportation Agency, I Komang Sudira Atmaja, said that all fleets depart from the Taman Sritanjung parking area, every Saturday and Sunday at 07.30.

Meanwhile, for the route to Mount Ijen, departures at night starting at 22.00, because it is adjusted to the climbing time.

Komang explained that to be able to get this free transportation service, tourists can register through the Smart Kampung application owned by the Banyuwangi Regency Government.

In the application, registrants can enter the all menu feature, select the Transportation Agency, then click on free tourist transportation. Next, registrants can choose their destination, along with the date and time of departure. However, all schedules and routes adjust to the quota of registrants and requests from the applicant.

“Individuals or groups or communities can register,” said Komang.

In addition to free transportation facilitated by the Banyuwangi Regency Government, there is also a subsidized tourism transportation service from the Ministry of Transportation and DAMRI, with the route Pulau Merah and Kawah Ijen.

This transportation is open every day using a fleet of 4 minibuses, with a cost of IDR 30 thousand. Online ticket reservations via damri apps/traveloka/red bus or directly to the Damri Banyuwangi office.*
